Welcome to this months Blog Hop with my lovely friends from the Academy.

This month’s title was “Card for Kids”.

I couldn’t wait to get started with the Darling Dinos stamp set. They look so cute and friendly don’t they?

Start off by collecting everything you need together. You will see as you read that I added an extra detail as I went along. More later.

I planned to colour the images using Stampin’ Blends so I stamped in Basic Grey ink. I stamped all 3 images and then coloured them.

I then cut them out using my brand new Paper Snips. Santa brought me my annual new pair!

Using post it notes I divided my card mat into approximate thirds and used a Blending Brush and Peach Pie ink to lightly colour the background. I removed the post it notes and used Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green in to blend colour onto either side, working to blend in the edges between colours.

Rather than putting my blending brushes directly into the ink pad, I prefer to stamp a clean acrylic block into the ink pad and take ink from the block.

I stamped the “Roar” statement in Basic Grey onto the background and the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in green onto a Basic White scrap. I cut a banner end to create a flag appearance. I then decided to get my Versamark ink out and use the dinosaur footprint stamp. I randomly stamped all over the background. The Versamark ink gives a watermark effect in whatever colour background you have

To finish off I stamped a top hat with Basic Grey on white and coloured with the blending brush.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere all of my images to the background. The background was added to a Basic White card base with a Happy Birthday sentiment stamped inside. The finished card is shown below.
