Well here we are with the September Academy blog. Time is going by so quickly and I can see the colours changing already. I have been planning our Winter Craftalong. My team are all going to be there, it’s an opportunity for us to craft together with each other and our customers and maybe meet some new people too. We are delighted with the venue because it is right beside the railway station at Keighley. Full details are on my website.
Anyway, about today’s card. It needed to be super easy and quick to make. The theme is Birthdays. It’s rare that I do a card that is just stamped but I did like the simplicity of this stamp set. I was chatting to a Belgian demonstrator who said that this is the only seasonal stamp set she has bought because it does everything! It is an online exclusive so isn’t in the catalogue, if you look at the “online exclusive” section of the Stampin Up! Website you will also see the matching papers and dies.
So let’s make a start and gather everything you need.
I chose Highland Heather base card and ink, a white stamping layer, Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lolly inks and the Iconic Imagery stamp set.
First, I stamped “Celebrate” in the centre of the white card with Highland Heather ink.
Then stamped below and above with Fresh Freesia. I found the easiest way to do this is to line up the letter “t”.
Stamp the stars with Lemon Lolly.
Cut the stamped layer down to 6cm x 6cm.
Use the dotty stamp to decorate the edges of the Highland Heather card base.
Stick the stamped square on to the card base.
Put a white layer inside the card. Add a stamped image(s) if you wish.
