The theme for this month’s blog hop is Floral and I decided to use this to make a sympathy card which unfortunately I needed for a neighbour.

Collect everything together and prepare your card pieces.

Stampin’ Up! Positioning tools.

 wanted to try out the new Stampin’ Up!® positioning tool. I have been using it a lot since I got it. I am delighted that it is available as part of the February joining offer. Once you have all of the images done, use Stampin’ Blends to colour the leaves – I chose light Old Olive. I used light Cloud Cover for the seed type heads and light Highland Heather for the little rose type flowers.

Once I was happy with the colouring I changed to ‘Wink of Stella’ I started at the centre of the rose type flowers. Wink of Stella is almost translucent but picks up the colour of water based dies. I worked from the heavily coloured areas, working this through to the edges. It turned the ink a pinky purple colour.  I also stamped part of a flower onto the white circle with the sentiment. I have chosen this particular colour combination because I have a beautiful cyclamen plant ready to got to my lovely neighbour along with this card.

Once I had finished colouring I cut the stamped piece  into 3.5cm strips and mounted them onto 4cm strips of Blackberry Bliss card. I mounted the 3 strips onto the Old Olive square, keeping the pattern sequence in the correct order.

I used a piece of retired ribbon and attached 2 pieces of Tear n Tape to the ends. I used the lines on my grid paper to line it up evenly. I didn’t need to remove the top layer of the tape because I was using All Purpose Adhesive to stick the card square down. Once it was fixed, I added a shorter piece of ribbon so that it looked like a bow.

I stuck the sentiment in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stuck the panel to the card base and stamped a greeting on the inside.
