Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop post. When you have read my post, please click on to the other stamper’s blogs so that you can see their creations. The theme for this month was ‘Colour Combo’.
The colours that I have chosen are 3 of the new Stampin’ Up! In Colour collection.
The colours are Peach Pie, Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock. You might recall that this is the same combo that I used last month. Peach Pie is the colour for my own In Colour Club this month too.
Here is how to make the card.
1. Collect everything you need.
2. Choose your colours and word stamps. I chose the Spotlight On Nature stamping bundle. I chose the flower, the leaf stem and the butterfly. I also wanted a thank you card so I chose the ‘Thanks’ sentiment.
3. Prepare a Thick Basic White card base (10.5 x 14.9 cm) and a matting layer in one of your chosen colours (10 x 14.4cm). I chose one of the Shy Shamrock Designer Series papers because the overall effect was to give a lighter colour to the background. You could use any of the colours or even plain white
4. I cut 3 circles from basic white card using the larger circle punch and then die cut 3 edged circles from the Spotlight on Nature die set. I cut one in each of my 3 colours.
5. I then stamped the leaf sprig using Shy Shamrock ink and the butterfly and sentiment using Peach Pie.
When you are happy with your stamping, use multi purpose adhesive to stick the stamped layer on to the coordinating coloured die cut circle with multi purpose adhesive.
6. To do the flower and it’s stems I used Stampin’ Write markers. I used Shy Shamrock for the stem, I applied it with the brush end of the marker. I then did the same with Petunia Pop for the flowers.
** A tip here is to give it a ‘huff’ as in a good breath over the ink before you stamp. Definitely worth practicing on scrap to get the technique sorted! Once you are happy stick to the remaining Petunia Pop die cut circle.
7. Add a few embellishments to your circles.
8. Stick your mat layer on to the card base and then arrange your circles on there. I had the first 2 flat with all purpose adhesive and the third one raised on dimensionals.
9. Stick stamped sentiment on to mat layer. Attach to card using dimensionals. Add a bow if you wish.
What a great card! I will be casing this one for sure!
