Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop post. When you have read my post, please click on to the other stamper’s blogs so that you can see their creations. The theme for this month was ‘just words’. The card that I am going to create relies on words and colour.
The colours that I have chosen are 3 of the new Stampin’ Up! In Colour collection.
The colours are Peach Pie, Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock. Shy Shamrock is the colour for my own In Colour Club this month too.
Here is how to make the card.
1. Collect everything you need.
2.Choose your colours and word stamps. I chose the Hooray for Surprises stamp set. The words I selected were ‘You’re the best’ , ‘Make a wish’ and ‘You are simply amazing’.
3. Prepare a Thick Basic White card base (10.5 x 14.9 cm) and a matting layer in one of your chosen colours (10 x 14.4cm). You also need a stamping layer in Basic White cardstock (9.5 x 14.4 cm).
4. Stamp the white layer using all 3 colours and stamps. Mix and match but be really careful to clean your stamps between colours! (ask me how I know this is a good tip !).
5. When you are happy with your stamping, use multi purpose adhesive to stick the stamped layer on to the coloured mat.
6. At this point you can add ribbon or twine as shown if you wish.
7. Stick the mounted stamped card and it’s mat on to the white base.
8. Punch out 2 circles, one white and the other in your chosen contrast colour. Use the birthday sentiment and stamp in your white circle and mount onto the coloured circle layer colour to create a topper.
9. Stick stamped sentiment onto mat layer. Attach to card using dimensionals. Add a bow if you wish.
10. Add gems in the colour of your choice. The finished card is below. Voila1
